Seattle & U2 Concert-April 25, 2005

U2
Key Arena
Seattle, WA

This concert began as a "sisters trip". It was an early day in February when U2 tickets started going on sale in Seattle. JT 2,3 and 4 decided to try and get tickets. Since I was in Boston at the time, I woke JT2 up in Liberty Lake so we both could get on our computers to score tickets. After HOURS of no luck, Jess calls up the ticketmaster outlet in Fred Meyer and is told there are a few seats left, but could not be reserved over the phone. She gets in her car, while I'm on the phone, to go and get them. While she's driving, I am able to score 3 tickets in the more expensive seats. I say to Jess, let's do it. She says lets wait....Long story short, there's no tickets left at the booth and I lost the seats waiting for her to decide. In my rage, I keep trying and trying....another hour or so later, I SCORE 3 tickets in the cheap seats!
Jessamyn's moral of the story: don't think, just do.
Months later after the ticket fiasco, I arrive in Seattle after spending the weekend in Minneapolis with Steve's family for Passover.
I meet my sisters (and mother who decided to "rain on our parade" of a "sister's trip") at the Rock Botton Brewery...
Drinks before the show.

..after our drinks we begin walking to the Key Arena for the big show!

"Where the streets have no names..."
Walking the mean streets of Seattle...on our way to the concert
We stop and pose.

The Tichy women: "We're one, but we're not the same..."
At the Key Arena...I'm on the phone because Jess was drunk dialing EVERYONE in her phonebook. I think I'm talking to Darek or maybe Jacko? I'm not sure...

"It's a beautiful day...don't let it get away"
Key Arena with the Space Needle behind
...after another beer, compliments of mom, we head to our seats. We had great seats in the balcony that were dead center of the stage.

Getting Ready for Bono

....the anticipation for U2 to start...

The Stage. (Bono is singing and the Edge is rocking out...you just can't see it in this picture)
The concert was AMAZING! They played some new songs and some oldies! We were singing to EVERY song they played. If you get the chance to go and see U2, definitely go.
All in all it was a quick, but fun trip. After the concert we went to our hotel to "nap" for a few hours before catching our flight home. Jess had to work the next day, but ended up getting "sick" (I think you all can guess from what) and puked all over the Seatac Airport as well as on the drive home. She didn't end up making it to work...
I was able to spend the day at home before I departed back to NYC.

The Gates-February 20, 2005

The Gates
by Christo and Jeanne Claude

I went to NYC for President's Day weekend to visit Steve and was fortunate to see "The Gates" in Central Park.

Personally, I felt the orange gates added life and color to the park. Of course others felt that putting up orange material throughout the park was not considered art. Everyone is entitled to their opinions.

Keane Concert-Febrary 11, 2005

KEANE
Orpheum Theatre
Boston, MA

Earlier that day, I was bored at my temping job at Putnam Investments and starting looking on ticketmaster for tickets for that night's show. Vigdis and Dave were already going and tickets had been sold out for months...I was one lucky lady because I was able to score 2 tickets to the show! I was so excited! I knew my fellow Keane fan, Marie, would join me! It was a great show! They sound phenomenal live. A show I highly recommend. See when they're coming to your neck of the woods: http://www.keaneband.com/

Superbowl 2005-February 6, 2005

SUPERBOWL 2005
February 6, 2005
Sidd's House-Brookine, MA
It was a fun-filled party with good company, food and drink (though a certain someone's chili was missing). Sidd bought a brand new HUGE TV that took up one whole side of his living room wall (the actual inches/feet I don't know). Just trust me, it was HUGE!
PATRIOTS vs. EAGLES

The crowd scattered around Sidd's apartment socializing, eating and drinking

Dave and Olivier kissing...pucker up Olivier.

Jaren chatting Liesel and Vigdis' ears off--probably about waxing and another painful experience I've had.

Dave is VERY: 1) festive 2) drunk

We had ourselves a great time! Olivier did his FIRST ever keg stand and Charles' girlfriend admitted to Dave that he could be her father...
All in all the night ended well with the PATRIOTS winning!
Patriots 24, Eagles 21
