My Parents visit including Atlantic City-August 6-7th

NEW YORK
My parents arrived on late Wednesday night. On Thursday, we met up for lunch around the neighborhood. We went to a delicious steakhouse.

I had to go back to work unfortunately, but we all met up later.
Dad and Mom picked me up from work (in a cab--there's a side story my Mom would love to tell) and went to my humble home on East 78th.

My Dad made friends with Lulu--because he was giving her TREATS!

After hanging out at my apt, we went to dinner at LUPA, Mario Batali's famous Italian Restaurant.

Friday, my parents toured the city. That night Mom and I went to go see "Light in the Piazza".
Here's us enjoying our pre-show drinks.

ATLANTIC CITY
It was a short, but fun trip! The 4 of us piled into Steve's parent's minivan, faught our way through the Jersey Shore traffic and ended up winning big!

The 4, yes, the 4 of us ALL shared our lovely room in
the Tropicana Hotel. A toast to the weekend...lord help us all!
Fortunately, we all survived and I still have a boyfriend!

We had mojito's in Cuba, next to Stalin and P.F Chang's (the Tropicana was full of Commies) on Saturday night.

After a delicious dinner we headed to the casino....

Daddy winning BIG! Though his bucket is near empty...
oh wait...I think I see a quarter in there.

Pulling the slots.

....After the parents got tired, Steve and I proceeded to the roulette table in the Hilton where we won big...after several hours and many drinks later!

We enjoyed the beach and the Atlantic Ocean. And a nice stroll down the boardwalk!

After a yummy lunch at Corky's, it was time for us to go. We worked our way back up to NYC--even with all the truckers drinking all the F-ing lattes--and dropped Annie and Greg off at JFK.

Camping in Acadia, ME-July 28-30

The camping gang: Cisco, Lollipop, Big Mama, Candy Cane, Black Hawk (or Black C--k), Grandma (or Gremlin), plus the doggies Pedro and Nina. I'm Bald Eagle taking the picture.

...Take a look at that tent. It's HUGE

Black C--k and Candy Cane. The future Mr. and Mrs. Diolosa!

The Gremlin. Sleeping?

The Men.
Steve, Dave, Olivier, John and Pedro.

Going on a baseball hunt...I'm not scared.
Throughout the weekend we played baseball. We lost some balls.
We found a ball. We lost a ball. We found a ball.

On our hike.

"Big Mama, what's your 20?"...."copy that. Roger."
We made sure we all stuck together on our hike by use of
John's walki talki's!

Another view.

The View along the hike.

Taking a nice relaxing break on our strenuous hike

Steve. What are you looking at? Trees, water...nature? Ah, nature.

I guess I'm looking at nature too..

View from the top!

Greetings from the top!

Eating lunch perched ontop of a "mountain". Food prepared by Vigdis.
That girl can make a mean tuna fish sandwich.

We made a firend. Rather, Dave made a friend (refer to Vigdis' blog for more info)

We took a stroll through Bar Harbor and found a delicious ice creamery...
nothing like home made icecream after a LONG hike on a hot summer day!

Whatcha got there Steve? Picking a winner I hope.

THE FIRE! Ready for a feast! After our long day of surviving in "remote" Acadica/Bar Harbor, ME we worked up quite the appetite and cooked everything in sight (including the paper plates).

Eating our feast around the campfire. We had beans, lots of beans with the
best chesseburger Vigdis has EVER had.

Though the trip up and down took longer than expected and Acadia wasn't as "remote" as we all thought we had fun!
