LIBERTY LAKE
July 4th, 2005

"Camp Tichy" had an agenda a mile long.
In brief :

Day 1:

We begin with a workout of swimming the lake, a Tichy family tradition. The water was brisk and refreshing...

Boating on Liberty Lake.

Steve attempting to ski.

Fishing. Jadyn, Dawn and Emily. They didn't receive the fishing merit badge because they did not catch a fish.

However, Steve caught 3 fish. He's the only person I know who's caught 3 fish in 2 days fishing in Liberty Lake

Exhausted by the lake activities it was time for a nap.

Steve and I taking a Kip in the hammock.

After the day's acitivies, we worked up quite the appetite...

Dinner Time! Chef Greg is cooking up some grub.

For the evening entertainment of Day 1, we had a bonfire on the beach and made s'mores.

Day 2: The 4th of July

The day begins with the parade in Alpine Shores

Annie finishing up the parade. "The parade is now over. Happy 4th of July"

After the parade it's back to chez Tichy. There we continued to celebrate by boating (see Day 1 activities), feasting and drinking.

After the sun went down. It was time for the fireworks.

"OOh, that's my favorite....oooh, ahhh...no that's my favorite."

...well, we didn't get to see too much of the fireworks. There was some drama this year. The first time a serious accident happened during the fireworks show. I won't go into details, but 2 people were injured. I promised Steve a phenomenal fireworks show and he was only able to enjoy a few. Maybe next year he'll come back to LL.

I think he had a good time. See his pictures and you tell me if he did.

Day 3:
We woke up early to catch our flight back to NYC and it turns out the tickets were for the 6th, not the 5th. Everything was booked, so Steve and I had an extra day at home. Basically Day 3's activities were a repeat of Day 1. Lots of boating, relaxing, and eating.

Day 4:
We go the airport to catch our plane and it is CANCELED. Yup. Canceled. The airlines are able to reroute us but on an overnight flight from Seattle. This allowed us to show Steve downtown Spokane and Seattle. Steve and I flew over to Seattle mid-day and hung out downtown. We went to the EMP, Pike Place Market, and the Piers. We went to dinner at Ivars and had some real Pacific seafood (fired of course). Finally, we made it back to NYC.
