A Genevoise cafe experience, sort of--September 21, 2006

We were on the hunt for a cafe to sit down, sip on a cafe and experience the Genevoise cafe lifestyle. The previous day we stumbled across a Starbucks of all places. As we walked and talked about the ideal setting we were looking for, like any other "connected Americans," we wanted to sponge the internet. We figured Starbucks would be the best place for us to sponge internet and get a descent cup o joe. (The two of us had a continuous headhache since our arrival because of the difficulty we had making coffee in the morning--we only had one of those Itlian stainless steel ity-bity fancy espresso makers). We got in line, ordered our drinks (of course the drinks were all in english--though they didn't make any iced coffee). We were told the total and both of us gasped--CHF 12. YES, that is correct. That is roughly spending $10 on 2 grande iced americanos. Here's the evidence. We will NOT be going back there anytime soon, that's for sure.
